Einhell Germany
Einhell was founded in 1964 by Josef Thannhuber, based in Landau Germany (approximately 1 hour from Munich). Originally known as Hans Einhell the company produced switch gears and transformers. By 1966 Einhell moved into a new production facility and the product range had expanded to include battery chargers, welding equipment, cable drums, tool boxes and charcoal grills. By this time, the focus on the car, tool, garden and leisure product segments was already established.
In 1986 Einhell was transformed into a stock company and went public in 1987. Since July 22nd 1987 Einhell preferred stock has been traded on the regulated markets in Munich & Frankfurt and ownership is widely held.
Einhell has been producing our own branded products as well as under generic or house brands for most of the past 46 years. However, it was not until the advent of the Einhell Blue and Red brands in 2003 that the company really started to build a strong brand presence throughout Europe. Today Einhell Red is one of the fastest growing power tool and garden brands across Europe and South America.
Today, still based in our original home in Landau, Einhell’s basic product strategy is to be quicker, more flexible and more innovative than our competition. A worldwide presence enables us to accommodate the international scope of our customer base which includes building supply, specialty retailers, DIY chains, mail-order companies, garden markets and discount chains. Our network of subsidiaries and affiliated partners around the world provide unparalleled global service.
